If this number is not attached to the parcel, it will be kept back in the mail until import taxes/customs and a fee have been paid - thus doubling the price of the item. When this happened, I wrote to them to get the IOSS number, so I could prove payment. After 1 week, no answer. So I had to pay the european customs.
