The seller had indicated that they wouldn't include the glass in the frame when shipping, to avoid the risk of it breaking. I agreed with that when purchasing, indicating that I wanted the glass removed. It arrived still in the glass, which had broken, resulting in some damage to the artwork. I cannot understand why they left the glass on.

The buyer left this negative feedback without contacting us first. When I saw it, I immediately contacted him. I asked for photos of the damage (twice) so I could start an insurance claim (and see what had happened). He responded that an insurance claim was not necessary, and he did not send me any photos. We've sent hundreds of glass framed paintings around the world without issue - the glass is fully taped and protected. Its hard to know what happened here!
