Es findet Anwendung bei Innenaufnahmen oder auch bei Schnappschüssen und dank der großen Offenblende bietet es ebenfalls kreativen Freiraum bei Porträtaufnahmen. Speziell niedrige Dispersions- Glaselemente und ELD Glaselemente, sowie ein asphärisches Linsenelement stellen eine hohe Bildqualität sicher. Da die Frontlinse beim Scharfstellen nicht rotiert, ist der Einsatz einer tulpenförmigen Gegenlichtblende und eines Zirkular-Polfilters möglich.
