Appears to be good quality pillow protectors. Lying on the pillow, I can feel the terri cloth type material (to absorb liquid) of the pillow protector through the pillowcase, so I don't have the soft cotton pillowcase feeling now. Also the protector makes a little crunchy sound when moving the pillow around which is expected. These are minor trade offs to get waterproof so I think it's worth it to prevent pillow stains.
