open box, but works well...try to find out how to change the area code in the instructions: you won't be able too...had to search online: have to scroll to the area code part and then use the DELETE button before you can type in the correct area code...had lot of numbers on phone already plus area code, that's how I know it was open box. One of the phone numbers was the 'Happy Time Massage parlor ( just kidding ...lol) That said, it seems like it works like new , so over all happy .
