Overall, it's a nice vintage brass pen and pencil holder, but it has several blemishes because the lacquer finish with all vintage brass items will eventually reveal areas where the lacquer is losing its integrity. It has a smallish diameter opening, but it's just right for your best pens and pencils, and it rotates 360º, which is a handy feature depending on where you place it.
I think it looks great on my computer desk next to my very vintage (and running) Relide Swiss-made ball clock.
