The book formerly belonged to occult book collector Katharine Fitz Hugh, and bears her signature to the title pages. Original red gilt cloth hardback. Pages 1-252, plus 20 page catalogue to the rear (Vol One), plus pages 253-512, plus 20 page catalogue (Vol Two). 7.25 inches by 5.25 inches. The books are in excellent condition, with boards and titles remaining bright, with some fading (see pictures). Internally clean. Interesting pencil annotations, presumably by Mrs Fitzhugh. Binding sound and square. An unusually nice example of this scarce book. Chapters include Jesus Passively Responsible for the Slave Trade, Scots Covenanters Sold into Slavery, Witches Examined for the Devil's Mark, Swapping Wives, Staking and Losing a Wife at the Card Table, and Monogamy Not Christian.”
