All photos were taken outside. The last 2 photos show similar parts that we had years ago. Just to give you an idea of how the knob which once sat on this plate looks like.What a rare find! Beautiful, antique, doorknob plate (escutcheon) made by, "Sargent & Co." of New Haven, CT during the 1920's. It's made of solid, heavy, thick, cast bronze, not stamped or plated iron. The plate has 2 holes: upper hole for doorbell and bottom hole for knob. The 2nd to last photo shows one of these knobs (not available for sale).The plate is embellished with a lovely wreath pattern. The lovely details are enhanced by a subtle patina. If you want a brilliant shine, all you'll need is some "Brasso," #0000 steel wood, and a little elbow grease.The plate is in great condition with only a few nicks and scratches here and there. Otherwise, there are no breaks, cracks, dents, or deep scratches.2 3/8" W x 3 3/8" HFULL DESCRIPTION BELOW”
