    Such a great find! This was the first 'big' bus to be operated in the UK in 'Pay As You Enter' mode with the driver collecting the fares. January 1st, 1952 was the date. Mr Fernyhough of London Transport went to Huddersfield that year to see how smoothly everything was running. The picture of the bus shows it in Stockport many years later at the Merseyway shopping centre after acquisition by Stockport social services.
