The usual - after 17 years and 230K miles the coolant extension tank on my E70 N62 developed a one-inch crack because of which my coolant was slowly leaking and the temperature fluctuating from 85 to 105 degrees Celsius. And one day it just gave up. So I went with this option got a new one, put it on, and added a gallon of distilled water. So far so good. Will report back in 10K miles.
