Seller Notes: “One of the scarce WW2 "Blitz" or "Air Raid Shelter" books published for children during the war ... “One of the scarce WW2 "Blitz" or "Air Raid Shelter" books published for children during the war (published circa 1941-2) by W Barton for Woolworths in a series called "Mighty Midgets". These were designed specifically to take down into the air raid shelters without difficulty and to save on paper but still entertain. They were published at 3d, a reduced cost to help the war effort. Approx 9 by 6 cms in size and 32 pages. It is in good condition, some signs of use and age. There is some dried sellotape residue at the spine area (misguided attempt at preservation) etc. Some edge rubbing and marks to covers etc.”
