I just ordered a new compass from farleyoutdoors. With all the electronic navigational aids on my boat board, I always make room for "Plan-B" in case the electronics "go dark", so I won't be using the compass much at all. But it's there when/if I need it. This compass cover also from farleyoutdoors will keep it in excellent condition for the day I do need it. I'm refitting my boat with a new NMEA2000 protocol helm station. But in the event all the electronics "go dark", between my printed charts and this trusty magnetic compass, I can still find my way home or to my destination. It never hurts to have a "plan-B" when you're out on the ocean. Farleyoutdoors had a good price (including shipping) on this model and shipped it fast.
