It is a first rate piece of equipment, fullfilling its inventor's (Walter Zapp's) goal of providing a camera that could be carried in anyone's pocket, ready for taking a picture at any opportune time. This type of camera was produced from 1937 (the Riga Latvia model) through the 1990s (LX version, proced in Germany). This model, Minox B, was the first to incorporate a coupled lightmeter. Zapp's company itself has an interesting history, with patents (and design work?) completed in Estonia, initial production in Riga Latvia, the company seized by Germany, then Russia, then Germany. The cameras proved popular with the major spy agencies, including Bill Donovan's Office of Strategic Services, later the CIA”
