This is a beautiful book which consists of charming black and white drawings based on texts from approximately five Civil War songs which are standards in the catalog of Civil War songs. The music with text appears scattered throughout the book. My interest in the book was as a songbook for Civil War songs. I had written to the dealer asking if there were songs with texts. He responded in the affirmative, and to a degree he was correct, but this is NOT a songbook. It is more of an artbook.
