I did not notice this immediately as I got the sandals in the cold months. it seems cutting this strap is common and I was unaware this was something I needed to look for (I now scrutinize every strap). The seller did not indicate the ankle straps were cut (really short) by the original owner. I don't have cankles, just healthy ankles for shoe size (11). The repair from Chaco will cost $30+shipping ($55+ total). This is more than a new pair, economically not sensible to repair. Bad experience.
