Seller Notes: “Very Good-Excellent overall vint cond: For sale is this 3rd of 3 rcntly discvr'd on the North Shore ... “Very Good-Excellent overall vint cond: For sale is this 3rd of 3 rcntly discvr'd on the North Shore of MA, pencil sgnd trio of Minimalist Geo-Abstract, Pop-Art color serigraphs, largely done in the colors of yellow, orange & cobalt. The trio of mid-20th c vint silkscreen works on paper were found unframed & individually wrapped in Mylar protective plastic in the same lg portfolio. Each is sgnd in pencil by the artist Thomas K. Lang & current prof of fine art & printmaking at Webster Univ., St. Louis, MO & currently Dept Chair. This work was dated to back in 1973 & reflects many of the aesthetic concerns discussed at that particular time, those being principally the tenets of not only Modernist abstract graphic iconography but the streamed-down, pared-back properties of Minimalist, Geo-Abstract works, where only 3 colors & simple arranged shapes, can create quite an intellectual dilemma of determining what exactly the viewer is looking at. W/the directness & punch of Pop-Art. Very sh”
