This tiny Bluetooth iPod Transmitter costed more than my iPod itself and I can see why. It paired flawlessly to my 2nd Gen AirPod Pro and I am able to control the iPod from my AirPods. That's a HUGE plus! This device alone brought my flash modded iPod to the modern tech that we have today. I can continue listening to my music untethered and with noise cancellation. The Bluetooth transmitter uses the iPod's battery, so I'd recommend that your iPod is using flash storage and bigger battery.
