They say big things come in small packages and this is certainly true with this vintage tin Toonerville trolley penny toy. The Toonerville antique penny toy is red, yellow and black. When the tin trolley is rolled all the wheels turn smoothly. The Toonerville trolley is based on the Toonerville Folks newspaper cartoon strip which was written by Fontaine Fox. The cartoon strip appeared in the Chicago Post from 1908-1955. Some of the characters in this Toonerville cartoon were Skipper (who drove the trolley), Truman, powerful Katrinka, Aunt Eppie Hogg and Mickey Maguire (town bully). The full name of the trolley is Toonerville trolley that meets all trains. This vintage tin Toonerville trolley penny toy is in excellent condition. Penny toys are very unique and can be a pleasure to collect. Hop on board and add this excellent antique Toonerville tin trolley penny toy to your collection.”
