- m***a (155)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseNot coper wire, I purchased several wires with SM connectors for my solar power generator. After cutting one to add an inline fuse, I noticed a small amount of copper and decided to test its composition further. Using a 1-inch section of stripped wire, I applied a propane torch to it on an anvil. The test revealed very little copper, with the wire being mostly aluminum and some tin, which melted before the copper. The got very hot with load and melted a Maxi Fuse. Not a good fit for my needs.Reply from: tegbe_0- Feedback replied by seller tegbe_0.- Feedback replied by seller tegbe_0.Due to the differing electrical and mechanical properties of aluminum, copper, and tin, it is neither feasible nor practice to combine all three in a single conductor. We recommend you having the wire tested by a certified facility. We stand by our product, which is made of high quality tinned copper as described.
