Seller Notes: “Vintage Mexican Guerrero folk art hand carved fantastical surreal human animal shrimp, camaron, ... “Vintage Mexican Guerrero folk art hand carved fantastical surreal human animal shrimp, camaron, lobster, sea life creature nagual nahual hybrid ethnographic Carnival, Day of the Dead, Dia de Muertos mask. Two carved eye hole slits. Two holes at top sides with monofilament for wall hanging. Hand painted multi-color surface. Unpainted raw wood backing, with a dark age-related patina. Unmarked, unsigned, no labels or tags. Uncertain of artisan. Likely made in the 1960s or 70s. A truly unique piece of Mexican Folk Art. In VG+ vintage condition with very minor general signs of age and wear, a bit of dirt and dust on surfaces, which we have not attempted to clean or remove, a few pigment losses around edges of mask. Measures approximately 10 inches long, 6 inches wide, and 4 inches deep. Weighs approximately 1 lb. Will weigh between 2 and 3 lbs packaged.”
