Speedometer did not function when I took it out of the package. It also looked a little rougher than I was hoping for, but not totally unexpected given the fact that it is for a 60 year old bike. I had to disassemble it (not as easy as it sounds) to clean out the inside and lubricate it and that did the trick. For the price, it should have worked as shipped. Old original parts and very difficult to find to I am still glad I purchased it because it worked out in the end.
