It was clean, and nothing was chipped, scratched, or otherwise indicative of it being a "used" item. While it is not the same style of head that came with my Outsize vac, but it fits perfectly and works well on both hard surfaces, and our Ruggable rugs. Definitely worth purchasing if you're balking at the price of a new roller brush head from the company (not to mention they're always out of stock.)
