A couple of things, it weighs 9 lbs 3 oz on my digital scale, so you might want to check if your analog scale tests as accurate. I don't believe that this is an alder body, I was frankly expecting it to be maple. However, putting an actual eyeball on it, I am leaning toward poplar as the routing cut is fuzzier than I believe either maple or alder would be. The price list says mahogany ash or poplar were options, G&L's CEO says no alder back then. that's
