The hardcover was dented at the top..front and back. Most likely from all the stops it made on its journey to me. The print was not large but found the person I bought it for doesn't mind small print. When I questioned about the large print I was told that the books come from different distributors and no promises could be made. I needed the gift right away so, I just went ahead and got it. The receiver of the gift will like it anyhow as he is a real history buff.
