Received notification from post office that there is VAT i have to pay of 40 GBP. Wrote the seller. I declined and initiated return to sender with post office. After a week did the tracking and found out it is still sitting in my local post office. I went there and paid VAT 40 GBP on top of what i paid already (150 GBP) and claimed the item. It was bought via eBay.co.uk which is suppose to have VAT included price. There was no mention in the listing that additional charges might occur.

You are right eBay should have handled the VAT from ALL buyers other than US buyers! When you import any goods from any country into your country, you need to check with your customs office what is the duty. It is not our responsibility to handle your customs issues from the US!
