The core was released in 2012 as part of Intel Corporation’s Sandy Bridge line of processors. Featuring an array of impressive specifications, it’s more than capable of handling demanding gaming and editing applications. With performance proven by benchmarks, the Intel Core i7-3820 is ideal for serious gamers and media creators.Equipped with a 32nm micro-architecture, the Intel Core i7-3820 processes data with four physical cores. Intel Hyper-Threading Technology allows for four logical cores as well. Each physical core is capable of handling two processing threads, enabling parallel processing. Applications can run much faster as a result of this feature. Operating with a 64-bit instruction set, these CPUs have a high clock speed of 3.6 GHz. Users can access the BIOS and enable Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 to reach even higher speeds of 3.8 GHz. A sizeable 10MB cache dynamically allocates memory within the core, accelerating data retrieval and processing rates. The i7-3820 is designed for installation in x79 Express motherboards equipped with an FCLGA2011 socket.The core is capable of communicating with motherboard components rapidly via its 5 GT/s DMI2 front-side bus (FSB) speed. It supports a massive amount of memory as well. This type of CPU can handle up to 64GB of DDR3 1066/1333/1600 SDRAM. As shown in benchmark testing, it can thus be employed in heavy-duty systems. It can run complex games, 3D animation programs, and other resource-intensive software. As it can process 40 PCIe 2.0 connections, the Intel Core CPU can control a vast number of peripherals. Hard drives, solid-state drives, graphics cards, and more can be seamlessly integrated with these processors. Furthermore, Intel includes Smart Response Technology (SRT) to provide users with the option of combining HDD and SDD systems.
