When I opened the box with the starter, It had rusty end cap on it and the bearing retainer on the end was seperated that would alloow the starter shaft to move back and forth about 3/4 inch. Not a good thing. I had to have the end cap welded back on so the armature would not move in and out and the end cap also sealed up the armature bearing which was not greased or lubricated in any way.
