Players raise a virtual pony to become a strong, full-grown horse in Discovery Kids: Pony Paradise. The overall goal of the game is to care for and train the pony, helping it to grow up to be healthy and live a happy life. Players can choose from four breeds of horse. Grooming mini-games are played from the perspective of the trainer, using the touch screen to interact with the animal, as in the Nintendogs line of pet simulations. Regular grooming activities help the horse from a virtual bond with its owner. Players can take their pony for a ride through five 3D environments: meadow, forest, circus, pony school, and stables. More than 60 accessories can be unlocked and collected, allowing the player to customize the pony's appearance while in the stables. Based on the basic cable channel's programming, Pony Paradise is part of 505 Games' Discovery Kids alliterative line of pet simulations for Nintendo DS, along with Dolphin Discovery, Kitten Corner, and Puppy Playtime.
