However, they soon learn about a mysterious force that's threatening the galaxy, and it may have some connection to Master Chief's past.As the very first next-generation Halo game, "Halo 5: Guardians" features both a meaty campaign mode and an expansive multiplayer campaign. The single player mode contains 15 missions, three of which are non-combat missions. You are given access to a massive arsenal of futuristic weapons and vehicles. Choose from among old and new weapons to help you beat the game. Master Chief's armor has also been upgraded with various enhancements that allow for greater mobility: vault over ledges, dash for cover, charge the enemy, or generate a shockwave by striking the ground.The campaign mode for "Halo 5: Guardians" has been designed around a new team-based combat system. When fighting enemies, you're assisted by a fire team of NPC Spartans who can react dynamically to events without needing any player input. However, if you need to control a team member, you can give them limited orders using the Xbox One controller. Fire team members provide both context-dependent commentary and scripted mission dialogue for unique and compelling chatter during combat. In cooperative play, other players assume control of the different fire time members, each of which has their own distinct attributes. The co-op mode allows players to seamlessly drop in and drop out of the game whenever they want.The multiplayer mode in this edition includes everything from the intense 24-player Warzone to the smaller 4-vs-4 competitive Arena mode. Good play earns Requisition points, which you can use to upgrade your gear and weapons. Invite some friends to play online or join up with strangers from around the world. Fifteen intricately designed maps come pre-loaded, all of which you will need to learn the layout of in order to master. An Xbox Live Gold subscription is required for online play.The Limited Edition for the Xbox One comes with a lot of amazing premium content that may prove useful in your fight against the Prometheans, including 14 REQ packs, a Guardians statue, a commemorative Master Chief and Locke model, the Fall of Reach animated series, a Spartan-themed steelbook, dossiers on both the Blue Team and fire team Osiris, and a lot more.
