Focusing both in and out is smooth and easy, although the helicoid is slightly dry, I like that because it means the lens is very original. It will only get gentle amateur use. If it was going to be used professionally it would need to be stripped and serviced by a lens guru. Outside cosmetic condition is very good, with only the odd tiny scratch. A+++++++++++++++++++
