At the time firefighters wore these, there were no chemical fibers, so sashiko fabric was used because it was durable and non-combustible.The sashiko fabric was soaked in water at the scene of a fire, allowing the water to soak in and prevent fires. Since it is an old item, there may be some dirt. We appreciate your understanding of old cloth that has passed through the ages. Thank you.”
