There is a difference - Size 7/8 is between Size 7 and Size 8, hence Size 7/8, and therefore smaller than Size 8. Sellers need to list what is on a tag, not "round up" a size. Different size numbers exist for a reason. I'm disappointed because my daughter won't be able to wear this in the Fall/Winter b/c she'll likely outgrow it.
