I really wanted to think this thing was 80s junk, but it isn't.I opened it up to find a massive transformer and Nichicon 10000uf filter caps.The sound was very clean powering some larger Mordaunt Short bookshelf speakers.Running through a kenwood pre amp i could only run the volume knob at around 7 or 8 oclock.It was plenty loud for the room with lots of reserve power.This thing may not look like much .. but its very descent.I have owned rotel, NAD, Adcom, mitsubishi power amps.The repair manual says it draws 500w , 2x250wpc musical output and 2x130wpc rms.(SPECS FROM HI FI ENGINE)Sharp Optonica SM-7700HSpecificationsPower output: 130 watts per channel into 8Ω (stereo)Total harmonic distortion: 1%Input sensitivity: 0.35VSpeaker load impedance: 8Ω (minimum)”
