    This expansion pack takes Infinity Ward's historically based first-person shooter for a ride. Developed by Return to Castle Wolfenstein creator Gray Matter Interactive, United Offensive adds a number of drivable vehicles to Call of Duty, and introduces new styles play to the original game's multiple single-player stories. Like the main game, the add-on features three separate single-player campaigns, to provide distinct World-War II era adventures from the perspectives of an American, British, and Russian solder.<br><br>Each of the three storylines focuses on a single, major battle. The U.S. soldier takes part in the Battle of the Bulge, while the British mission involves a bombing run during the invasion of Sicily, and the Russian adventure is set amidst the tank warfare at the Battle of Kurst. Graphics are tweaked by the add-on, for more realistic weather and explosions, and new abilities are available as well. The player's character can now sprint to get out of trouble, and can wait to throw an activated grenade ("cook" it) so that it explodes at a precisely timed moment (and cannot be thrown back by the enemy target!). <br><br>Additional weapons include portable machine guns and flamethrowers. Along with the new single-player features, new multiplayer modes and maps are also added by United Offensive. As with most expansion packs, a full installation of the original game is required for play.
