Checked with vendor to confirm the door hatchback part was for the drivers left door. It was confirmed to be correct. Unfortunately it was a left rear passenger door latch with a child safety lock. My mechanic was able to be creative and worked his magic. It now works fine and for the price of the latch it turned out to be a good deal. Life is good!
