I purchased this knife specifically for cutting whole watermelon. My mom has had one for years. I found a facsimile at a kitchen store was very disappointed in the lack of cutting. In frustration, I found the brand on my mom's knife and looked it up on eBay. This was the only on like it...12.5" blade, 17b overall. I found the biggest melon I could find and it cut thru with ease. Basically I could just push the knife thru. AWESOME!!

I'm glad this knife did exactly what you'd hoped for. Had I known it was that good at cutting watermelon, I'd have kept it..ha ha! I have a fancy store bought watermelon knife and I struggle with it. Enjoy your purchase!
