Seller Notes: “Frank Forester's Field Sports of the United States and British Provinces of North America by ... “Frank Forester's Field Sports of the United States and British Provinces of North America by Herbert, Henry William. 1848 Sixth Edition, revised and corrected, with additions, and many new illustrations. Stringer and Townsend, New York. Two Volumes in red cloth with gold embossing, gold has faded on spines but still plainly readable, gold embossing on front covers is still bright, very minor soiling and cloth wearing through on corners, back of volume one has four raised spots, less than a dime size each where some dripped on the cover years age, one end page has a less than one inch tear, and three past owners signatures on first endpaper of each volume, overall better than average condition. Book is about grouse, quail, hares, cocks, snipes, ducks, sporting dogs, wild fowl, elk, moose, antelope, sheep, goats, bear, turkey, and many other animals. Volume 1 is mostly bird hunting, and volume 2 is mostly game.”
