As it turned out, it does not work (hence the parts-only designation) -- the only issues that really stood out were leaked batteries and a deteriorated, gooey belt (both fixable). No worries; I've repaired a Walkman before, and I will repair this one and keep it for myself and give my other Walkman to my younger sister. :D
