Despite the seller not being able to 100% confirm if the device he had would suit my sewing machine I looked at its detail photos (supplied), and decided to order it anyway.It fitted perfectly and petfoff to ms the speed and in/ off functions exactly as the original which had been broken - hence my need to find a replacement. The Singer sewing machine was new in 1971. So it has had a long and busy life. Having metal gears not plastic it probably has another half century of good use ahead of it
