Good seller to deal with. The first drive had issues and seller issued a shipping label and promptly shipped a replacement once the original drive was received. The second drive works great. Thanks!

Looks, sounds and runs like new, even with 3.5 years of use on it. I've bought several used Ultrastar drives over more than 5 years and have never had a problem; I primarily use them for archiving.
Why Ultrastar? This was originally IBM's hard drive division, which invented helium drives. They sold it to Hitachi (HGST), which sold it to WD. HGST retained the quality, which may be why they are still so popular.
SSDs are not suitable for long-term archiving. A hard drive or gold DVD is better.

Exactly as ordered and shipped fast. Time will tell if the drive lasts or not, but there is a 5 year warranty, so I'm not too concerned.
