After wearing the ring for less than a week, one of the rubies fell out (the mount cracked, perhaps through an inherent defect). While having the mount fixed and two rubies replaced (so they match), the professional goldsmith informed me that they were not in fact rubies, but garnets. The seller was defensive, not helpful.
