Diese Rezepte wurden bisher noch nie aufgeschrieben, sondern über Generationen von Mutter zu Tochter weitergegeben - immer zubereitet "nach Gefühl". "Mit Oma am Herd" ist auch ein Buch über Anni, Maria, Hildegard, Therese und Elisabeth. Sie haben uns in ihre Küchen eingeladen, mit uns ihre Familienrezepte gekocht und dabei Geschichten über das Kochen und Leben von früher verraten. Einer Zeit in der es Fleisch nur an ganz bestimmten Tagen gab, bis zu zwölf Personen am Tisch satt werden mussten und Reste niemals weggeworfen wurden.
