I thought it was stainless steel from the photos on the listing and expected a bit cleaner surface but there are a few rust spots on the inside. I am not using it as a mixing bowl though so I can paint it with epoxy paint to cover the rust spots. Even though I was a tad disappointed, it was the cheapest version of this out there so no biggie. I can make it work.
