This item is clearly NOT a new item. The item should have been list either as an open box or used. I've purchased several of these items before. And I clearly know the difference between a brand new item that has never been opened or used and the one I received. I opted for the extra cost because I thought that I would be receiving a brand new item. Truly new items have a brighter display without minor surface scratches. The package has been opened before.
