The Fujitsu MHT2040AH is made for laptops and external enclosures, but it is also made to be quiet. Fujitsu wanted to make its 40 GB laptop hard drive much quieter than early models, and a fluid bearing system reduced noise by 30 percent. Unlike previous models, it's also fairly fast, with a 5,400 RPM platter speed, which makes writing data faster. In fact, the Fujitsu laptop hard drive transfers information at 100 Mbps, and can find data in just 12 ms. It also is expected to last a while, perhaps longer than the laptop or other device it is inside, with a lifetime of 300,000 hours for this 40 GB laptop hard drive. Lightweight is also a key factor to make transporting a laptop even easier, and the Fujitsu MHT2040AH weighs just 3.5 oz. Those considering putting it into an external enclosure will appreciate the small size, since the Fujitsu laptop hard drive is just measured at just 2.8 x 3.9 x 0.4-inches. Since it is much quieter, yet still works quickly, one may not even notice that the Fujitsu MHT2040AH is even there.
