I think the item description could have been better. Only one of the four pieces is close to 3" by 3" and one is only 2 5/8" wide. Two pieces include the pith, the first time I have been sent this useless part of the tree. Nevertheless, there is a lot of useful wood here if I cut carefully and I am not really unhappy, so three stars.
