About this product

Product Information

The career of Eric Clapton - considered by many to be the world's greatest rock guitarist - spans more than 25 years and includes stints with the influential Yardbirds, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Derek and the Dominoes, Cream and Blind Faith, as well as his more recent highly successful incarnation as a solo artiste. His rise to the status of guitar hero in the 1960s led to a much documented involvement with drugs and this, combined with his turbulent marriage to Patti Boyd, made him an easy target for the media. The historic Rainbow concert in 1973 marked the beginning of his return and subsequent solo career. Ultimately, though, it is Clapton's music and complete mastery of the electric guitar which is his most important attribute. Harry Shapiro's biography covers all aspects of Clapton's life and takes his career up to date, including the events of 1991.
