In the photos it doesn't look like it was bent, so either it was dropped after the photos were taken or the packaging did not protect it well enough. After several rounds of removing the bracket and trying to tap it flat with a small hammer, I did finally get the graphics card to fit into the case, and it did work. On the plus side, I did appreciate the accurate description of the dead fan.
