Yeah the cork fits snuggly because it was adulterated. The bottom plastic ring was broken and the cork itself was glued on. My fault for not asking I suppose. The bottle is nice though and yes, I was able to fix the cork by providing my own cork and bottom plastic ring seal so now it's perfect.
