Honestly you really only need 1, but since I have a 2.25 and 1.75 belt, it’s easier to just buy two and quick swap my two holsters between the belts. The adjustment system requires an alumn wrench to remove two screws and reinstall, so using 1 locking belt slide and switching between the 2.25 and 1.75 is too time intensive for me.
